Freelance Video Editor – Remote (H/F)

Join an editorial podcast project focused on exploring single-word themes through the lens of Caribbean diaspora and Black cultural perspectives. This freelance role involves editing both video and audio for a full season of 15 episodes—12 solo (30 minutes each) and 3 guest episodes (45 minutes each). The ideal candidate will bring a warm, editorial visual tone, intentional pacing, and a restrained editing style that highlights strong pull-quote moments. You will deliver polished YouTube videos with clean lower thirds, high-quality audio exports, and three social-ready vertical clips per episode. Reference styles include “We Don’t Always Agree with Ryan & Sterling” and “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer.”

Deliverables

• Edit and deliver 15 podcast episodes (video + audio):
– 12 solo (30 min each)
– 3 guest (45 min each)

• Produce color-corrected YouTube videos with clean lower thirds for each episode

• Export high-quality audio files for every episode

• Create three vertical, social-ready clips per episode, highlighting key moments

• Ensure a warm, editorial, culturally resonant visual tone

• Maintain intentional pacing and restrained editing—avoid hype-driven cuts

• Collaborate on feedback and revisions as needed

Requirements

• Proven experience editing both video and audio for podcasts, with 2–3 examples of previous podcast video edits

• Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and audio editing tools

• Strong sense of visual storytelling, color correction, and lower-third design

• Ability to match provided reference styles

• Understanding of Caribbean diaspora and Black cultural perspectives preferred

• Excellent attention to detail and consistency across episodes

• Reliable weekly availability and ability to meet agreed turnaround times

• Strong communication skills and responsiveness during the editing process
